Funny Anecdote on Keukenhof
Below an anecdote on Keukenhof : new tulip 😉
On a sunny spring day, an enthusiastic tourist ventured into Keukenhof Gardens, armed with his state-of-the-art camera. He was so absorbed in the beauty of the tulips that he didn’t notice he had walked straight into a flower bed.
Suddenly, a gardener appeared out of nowhere, shook his head, and said with a smile, “Well, you’ve discovered our new tulip variety, the ‘Touristus Clumsicus.’ It’s very resistant to clumsy tourists!”
The tourist laughed heartily, and the gardener helped him gently out of the flower bed. They then chatted about tulips, the beauty of the garden, and, of course, the famous “Touristus Clumsicus.” The tourist left with a memorable story to tell and a photo of himself amidst the tulips, a radiant smile on his face.
This is how an unintentional mishap turned into an unforgettable experience at Keukenhof, reminding us that even accidents can bring joy in this floral paradise.
Tulip Mania
“Tulip Mania” is a fascinating historical episode from the 17th century in the Netherlands. In the 1630s, recently introduced tulips became the first speculative bubble in economic history. The prices of tulip bulbs soared to exorbitant levels, reaching dizzying heights. People sold their possessions and even mortgaged their homes to buy tulip bulbs.
However, in February 1637, the bubble burst, leading to a massive price collapse. Many lost everything. Tulip Mania remains a classic example of speculative frenzy, illustrating the consequences of greed and irrational speculation in financial markets.
