We had the opportunity to do one week Mediterranean cruise with MSC Opera (Italy – Montenegro – Greece). The experience was really fantastic. The landscapes in the different cities and countries were so beautiful and amazing. I really recommend people to do cruise for those following reasons:
- The food is really good.
- The staff is very kind.
- The performances are excellent in the night shows.
- There are many restaurants and bars to test and enjoy.
- Every morning, we wake up in a new city and often in a new country.
- We have a great view when we arrive in the marina.
- Even though there are thousands of passengers on the cruise boat, it is well organized during the cruise ships and stopover.
Below our cruise itinerary
- Venice
- Kotor
- Mykonos
- Santorini
- Corfu
- Bari
You will find below my pictures taken during this cruise trip.
- Boat MSC Opera
Very nice boat, good restaurants and bars, great trip
2. Venice – Italy
Boarding from Venizzia – Venice – Italy : the boarding took 3 hours (we gave out our luggage then we waited in a big hall for boarding in the cruise). Venice is romantic city, many bridges, no car, take boat or walk, need 3-4 days to visit Saint-Marco and 2 other islands Burano (famous for lace) and Murano (famous for glass) that’s why we arrive in Venice 4 days prior to the boarding day.
I will make a dedicated post on Venice as we stay several days prior to the start of cruise.
3. Kotor – Montenegro
Amazing view when we arrive in the marina of Kotor city. short stop in the afternoon, it enough to visit the small downtown by walk, nice city, the port is close from downtown
4. Fruit carving during the dinner captain reception
5. Mykonos – Greece
The beaches, streets, flowers are really beautiful. The bars and restaurants have very good vibe. We stopped there the whole day until night: nice downtown with small streets and white house, really beautiful beaches with music and DJ. We have taken the bus from the downtown then we did hiking which enabled us to discover 3 beaches beautiful beaches.
Plastic Galios : beautiful blue sea but many private bars
Many private Yachts
Hike route to along Papaya beach and Scorpio
Paradise Beach : really good dancing music there. We come back from the beach to cruise port by bus.
6. Santorini – Greece
The city is small but very cute with the white buildings. Santorini is a short stop: it lasts only 1/2 day in the morning, so we quickly take a boat from port Thira to visit Oai village: so beautiful view then we come back Thira port and walked down the 600 steps (it took 45 minutes, instead you can take cable car or donkeys) to go back on the cruise boat.
7. Corfu – Greece
The beach is beautiful. It was a short stop of 1/2 day in the afternoon. We took a city bus to go to the beautiful beach Paleokastritka to swin (it took around 2 hours for the bus round) then we go to the downtown. Then we walked from downtown to cruise terminal (around 30 minutes).
8. Amazing Sunset from the cruise boat
Sunset view from the cruise boat : after the stop of Corfu, we have the chance to have an amazing view on the sunset.
9. Bari
The prices are cheap there. It was a very short stop in the morning, no time to visit surrounding such as Pouilles so we stayed in the center, cheap prices and nice port, the cuise port is around 35 minutes by walk from the downtown.
